Mold Assessor in Florida preforming moisture inspection

Your Mold Assessment Specialists

If you suspect that you have mold in your house, it’s important to hire a mold assessor with an expertise in moisture and mold detection and remediation to perform a professional mold inspection. Symptoms of mold exposure can be incredibly serious, particularly exposure to toxic mold. Here is a look at the key benefits of hiring a mold assessor in Florida to perform a mold inspection in your home.

Should You Be Testing for Mold?

There are few living organisms on this planet as hardy as mold. It can grow almost anywhere given a small amount of moisture and organic materials such as paper, wood and fabrics. Therefore, it shouldn’t surprise you that mold can be found everywhere, both outdoors and indoors year round.

As a homeowner, testing for mold is your responsibility. This is especially important if the home has been affected by any leaks, floods, damaged appliances (that use water), etc.

Mold Inspection Procedure

  • A Mold Assessor, Licensed in the State of Florida, will come to your home or property to discuss the issues you have been experiencing and to look for indications of mold growth.
  • We will perform a visual inspection of the area where the mold was thought to be as well as the surrounding areas.
  • We use an infrared camera, which allows us to scan surfaces of any given area and identify areas of potential concern that cannot be seen with the naked eye. We will use this technology to detect areas which may contain hidden moisture.

  • We will check the humidity levels in the property with a humidity monitoring device.

  • Our technician will perform an indoor and outdoor air test and will compare the spore counts in each respectively. The outdoor air test provides us with a control or base sample with which we use to compare our results from the interior.

  • In the event that there is visual mold present, we will take a sample of the growth and then send to a certified lab for analysis.

  • The technician will photograph areas of possible mold in the property which will be included in a thorough report for use in the remediation process.
